David Gilliver: Running a British Company in Germany?
David Gilliver steered a leading British multi-national textile company which he joined as a management trainee in 1970 after completing a degree course in Modern Languages (German and French) at Oxford University. He moved into senior management posts working for the firm in its head office in Glasgow, but also in Hong Kong, Italy, Mexiko and the Sudan. In 1992 he became managing director and chairman of the board for the companies businesses in Germany. He has gained broad practical experience of managing German businesses and is especially well equipped to talk about the differing cultures and practices in German and British management.
The talk is arranged by the Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft München e.V. and will take place at the IBZ (Internationales Begegnungszentrum), Amalienstraße 38, at 7 p.m. Guests interested are warmly welcome.
