Christian Dengg is a researcher at the Chair of Modern History at the LMU since September 2022. His PhD project dealing with the transformation of politics in Italy during the last two decades of the 20th century is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and supervised by Kiran Klaus Patel.
In his research project, Christian Dengg examines the history of the debates on corruption and immigration in Italy. Providing a new perspective on the polarisation of politics and society, this case study seeks to refine our understanding of the challenges faced by Italy and Europe in contemporary history.
After his state examination in history, Latin philology, and educational science in 2020, he worked as a high school teacher with a special emphasis on teaching children with a hearing impairment. Since March 2022 Christian Dengg is a PhD candidate at the Chair of Modern History. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in contemporary history and Italian philology, and he spent one year as Visiting Student at the LUMSA university, Rome.
