Alessandro Venieri joined the Chair of Modern History at the LMU in February 2025 as a PhD student and associated member of the InechO project. Before that, after graduating in History (BA) and International Relations (MA) at the University of Bologna, he pursued studies in International Political Economy (MSc), Economics (Adv Dip) and Social and Economic History (MPhil) at the LSE and the University of Cambridge. Currently, he works as a research officer at the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA).
His main research interests concern European history and international relations across the XIX and XX centuries, and more specifically the evolution of European cooperation and institutions, economic and political integration between nations and the development of federalist ideas.
Associated with the InechO project, his PhD dissertation will focus on the legacy of the Allied Maritime Transport Council (AMTC) and its impact on subsequent projects and institutions developed in the European continent. For a detailed project description please see the InechO website.
